Founder – Song Stew Entertainment

Jonathan McHugh has spent more than 25 years in the music, film & TV business as a producer and music supervisor. As founder of Song Stew Entertainment – an independent film/TV production, music supervision and marketing company – he is currently co-producing the upcoming film Christmas In Compton. Most recently, he was SVP of Film & TV at Island Def Jam Music Group where he co-produced the documentary, Greatest Movie Ever Sold and the film Justin Bieber’s Never Say Never, which has grossed over 100 million dollars. McHugh has produced dozens of films and TV shows including Snoop Dogg’s Hood of Horror (which he co-wrote), Repo: The Genetic Opera, Flying By and Battle Ground Earth, co-starring Ludacris. McHugh has served as music supervisor for over 25 feature films and TV shows including the successful Saw series of films. McHugh spent eight years as VP of Visual Media for Jive Records/Zomba Label Group where he began his film production career by launching Zomba Films, where he co-produced the hit movie, Crossroads. McHugh also produced and marketed hit soundtracks for the MTV film The Wood and Nickelodeon’s Wild Thornberry’s and Jimmy Neutron. In the years prior he was Vice President of Soundtracks at New Line Cinema, where he co-produced soundtracks for The Wedding Singer, Rush Hour, Austin Powers and more. He began his soundtrack career at A&M Records. Prior to producing he did stints as Director of Consumer Marketing at A&M, VP of Promotion at Elektra Records and Director of Promotion at A&M Records. As a Grammy member, McHugh has served as LA Chapter President, a National Trustee, and for the last three years on the NARAS Television Committee.  McHugh is a member of the Producers Guild and a founding member of the Guild of Music Supervisors. He also volunteers his time as a board member for the Neil Bogart Foundation.
